Mazen Mroue is a seasoned telecommunications and digital infrastructure executive with over 25 years of senior and executive management experience across Africa and the Middle East. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for MTN Group Digital Infrastructure, where he leads the Group’s Mobility and Fibre businesses and drives the execution of MTN’s data centre strategy, a key pillar in enabling Africa’s digital transformation. 

Since joining MTN in 1998, Mazen has held multiple senior leadership roles across the Group’s regional operations, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer positions in the various operating companies. His extensive experience spans telecommunications, information technology, and digital services, with a strong track record of advancing network innovation, operational efficiency, and business growth across diverse markets. 

Mazen also serves as a director on several Boards within the MTN Group, contributing to the strategic governance and development of the Group’s digital and infrastructure portfolio. His leadership continues to strengthen MTN’s capabilities in delivering next-generation connectivity and digital infrastructure solutions. 

Qualifications 

Mazen holds a Master’s degree in Engineering, specialising in Intellectual Systems and Networks. He has also completed executive programmes in Leadership Development and Executive Finance at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
